I'll never forget the summer before I went of to college for my undergraduate, I was 18 years old and had reached rock bottom with my weight. I walked into the gym weighing in at 200lbs and feeling ashamed. That first workout was the hardest. But I kept going. Gina trained me 3-4 times a week and even when I wanted to give up she pushed me. I first met Gina as my personal trainer in 2013 and she is still my trainer today. At first I thought it would be hard for me to meet her at a gym for training because I’m very shy but Gina was very supportive and let me know it would be a welcoming environment. Gina’s workouts are diverse and challenging. Every session is different and I have learned new and creative ways to use equipment and perform exercises. I have always been into fitness, more so into hiking and working out on my own, but when I train with Gina I actually feel like I get a work out and I can really see my body change. Gina’s attitude is always positive and she makes you feel comfortable in the gym. I have never felt pressure from her to meet some expectation or stand on a scale, which is the type of person I need working with me. I alternate working day shifts and night shifts so my schedule is always changing but Gina always tries to fit me in. I have now known Gina for several years and over the years I have traveled for work for periods of time but when I get back I return to training with Gina.
Gina and I have a love-hate relationship. I love her but I hate to exercise. This year I turned 65. It is so important at any age to exercise but especially as we get older. Doing both cardio and strength training helps keep our bodies healthy and strong. I knew when I walked in the gym that I needed some training. I can honestly say, if it were not for Gina teaching me how to exercise correctly and use the equipment properly, I would not continue to go to the gym. She makes it easier for me to do my workout by encouraging me to push on. After just a few sessions with Gina, I noticed results in my muscle tone and energy level. I am 31 years old and have been working out for the last nine years. I've had my ups and down in motivation, as well as fitness level, over the years. Gina is the sixth trainer I've worked with, and even after the first session, I knew I have finally found my trainer.As an R.N., it can be difficult to make fitness fit into my schedule, but with Gina I look forward and make time for my sessions. She is the most creative, and definitely the most genuinely enthusiastic trainer, I've worked with.
